I met Dennis at the Open Day at the Fenland Aviation Museum, Wisbech. This was not a model show as such, but four clubs presented displays in a small marquee. Part of the IPMS Fenland display on the tables opposite to our Club tables was three small display cases. In them were about three hundred tiny models, with subjects from the early days of powered flight to the present day. All were scratch built by Dennis to 32ft to the inch, i.e.1:384th scale.
The two pictures above show just the First World War models from the display. The Caproni triplane bomber model (No. 151) has 44 interplane struts, the largest model shown, the Stakken R VI, has a span of just 4.3 inches.
If you get to a show where the IPMS Fenland Club is displaying be sure to look out for Dennis' impressive collection
